Lebanon Loses a Respected Korean War Veteran, Richard Armstead.

Richard Armstead ... former Boston detective

LEBANON - Richard Armstead, 85, died Sunday, May 10, 2015, at Dover Center for Health and Rehabilitation of Dover, N.H.
He was born August 24, 1929 in Boston, Mass., the son of Robert Wichart and Catherine Agatha (Wooten) Armstead. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked as a police officer and detective for the City of Boston, Mass. for many years. He has resided in Lebanon, Maine since 1987 and was a member of the American Legion William E. Carter Post # 16.
Members of his family include daughters, Sheila Armstead Thompson, Conn., Brenda Armstead Pryor, N.J.; grandchildren, Lauren and Alexa Pryor; brother, Raymond Armstead, Mass.; sisters, Barbara Hill, Mass., Joan Kimber, Mass. and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Ralph, Robert Jr., Roger, and Ronald Armstead, Sylvia Robinson, Kathleen Kimber.

$38.2 million MSAD 60 school budget passes

NORTH BERWICK, Maine - MSAD 60 voters approved a proposed nearly $38.2 million budget on Tuesday.
The new $38,167,372 budget is nearly a half-million dollars more than last year's.
In Lebanon, voters OK'd the budget, 90-49, while in North Berwick it was approved 103-29.
Vote totals in Berwick were still not available at the Central Office this morning, but a Berwick official had informed school administrators that it had, in fact, passed.
