Allyre T. Ouellette, 66, a resident of Lebanon, Maine, died Sunday, January 3, 2016 with his loving family by his side, following a lengthy and brave battle with emphysema.
Allyre was born September 29, 1949 to the late Dennis Ouellette and the late Mathilda (Chamberland) Ouellette. He graduated in 1970 from Wisdom High School in St Agatha, ME and later moved to New Britain, CT and met the love of his life and soul mate Darlene Godin and married July 30, 1977. They later moved to Lebanon, Maine in 1987 where he was employed by Godin Brothers & Associates as a sheet-rocker and later a maintenance mechanic for St. Elizabeth School in Rochester N.H. Allyre or "big Al" as some might call him was an avid Red Sox fan who also enjoyed going to his grandchildren's sports games as much as possible. The times he loved most were spent with his grandchildren whom he adored, whether it be camping in the backyard, playing whiffle ball or just simply hanging out together would be okay too. He also loved to be the life of the party, telling jokes and making people laugh with his funny gestures. His love of dancing with his wife would always turn heads on the dance floor with amazement.
Besides his parents, Allyre is predeceased by his brothers, Bert and his wife Emily, Marc, Robert, John-Paul, Claude and his sisters, Jackie and Linda.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Darlene (Godin) Ouellette; a daughter, Melissa (Ouellette) Jandreau and husband Jason of Lyman ME and their children Cody and Kaitlyn; a son, Todd Allyre Ouellette and children from a previous marriage Tyler, Aiden, Owen and Madison; Todd's wonderful girlfriend Mandy with her children Connor and Olivia. Also surviving are his brothers Gilman of New Britain, CT, Danny of St. Agatha, ME and Reginald and wife Beatrice of Frenchville, ME; his sisters Florence (Ouellette) Martin of Madawaska, ME and Jeannine (Ouellette) Bourgoin of Sarasota, FL; In-laws, Philip Picard of St Agatha, ME and Marie-Jeanne (Lagasse) Ouellette of Madawaska ME and nieces and nephews too numerous to list by name. Besides his parents he is predeceased by his brothers Bert and his wife Emily, Marc, Robert, John-Paul, Claude and sisters Jackie and Linda.
His lifelong friends are Ronnie Dufour, Bert Cyr and Roy Chamberland who have many unforgettable memories together.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful doctors and nurses and Frisbee Memorial Hospital who took great care of dad while he was there.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January, 7th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 8th at St. Mary’s Church, located at 71 Lowell Street in Rochester, New Hampshire. Interment will be in the spring at the St. Agatha Lower Cemetery located in St. Agatha, Maine.
