NORTH BERWICK, Maine — The Noble softball team improved to 5-6 with an 11-4 victory over Deering in Western Maine Class A.
Emma Burns led the offense with three hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Kayla Lessard (2 RBIs, 2 runs, double), Melodie Bailey (triple, double, 3 runs, RBI) Morgan Perillo (2 hits, double, 2 RBIs, run) and Tyler Chastney (2 hits, run, RBI) also contributed to the balanced attack.
Winning pitcher Kailey Coleman gave up four runs and eight hits in five innings with three strikeouts and one walk. Shaughnessey Gower allowed two and fanned four in two innings of relief.
The Knights visits McAuley on Wednesday.
