"Lebanon Lady Runners", Promoting Heath, Fitness, Bonding and Positive Role Models.

There's a new "kid" in town, a positive group, growing in numbers by the day, supporting women's health and fitness, upholding one another with challenges and friendship, and designed to bring women with fitness goals together as a positive part of the Lebanon community.
They're known as the Lebanon Lady Runners, bonding first on their Facebook page, and then arranging to run together, based on criteria such as ability, distance and time availability.
The group, co-founded by Lebanon residents and running enthusiasts Geneva Nice and Lori Hayden, operate a "Closed Group" Facebook page where over 100 local ladies of all abilities can encourage one another and meet up to share "girl time", increase their energy levels, strength and endurance by running.
While on the group's Facebook page, members can discuss issues such as the, best running shoes, methods for increasing distance and endurance, running related injuries, and other topics of support.
"We also run a smaller nutritional support group called "Lebanon Lady Runners Nutritional Support"." said Ms. Nice in an online interview. This site offers information and discussion topics on better nutrition and healthy eating for the "Lady Runners" and their families.
After the various meetings and runs, members of the group are encouraged to share "Runfies", which Nice describes as "Post-Run Sweaty Selfies".....as a fun way to encourage and share personal times, goals and accomplishments with one another.
"We have various groups with common goals running simultaneously as well. For example, people may be training together for certain races, half marathons, marathons, etc. We also have larger group runs to celebrate holidays or personal goal achievements," said Nice, adding that The Lebanon Lady Runners also have groups of people who are new to running as well that are encouraged on their new journey. "All skills and abilities can find a home within our group. We are a judgement free group. There is a zero tolerance policy for gossip and/or scrutiny. Members are expected to be positive role models while sharing our passion for running when representing or group."
It was also added that the idea of running in groups is SO much safer for the ladies, and allows them to run at times of day when they wouldn't usually run alone.
We thank Geneva Nice for such a friendly and informative interview and for providing a wonderful new community activity for the women of Lebanon.

"Toys for Lebanon Kids" ends another Successful Year!!

Lebanon Fire and EMS Christmas Elves,
Jessica Kelly and Cindy Harmon
did a fantastic job this evening of sorting, wrapping and passing out toys and games to 35 families tonight in the
"Toys for Lebanon Kids" toy drive.
According to Cindy, this year's donations weren't so much from corporate and business donations, but more so from the Department's collection bins, scattered throughout Lebanon
and private family donations.
Families applied to the Lebanon Fire and EMS Department and to the best of the "Elves" ability, wishes were granted and there will be gifts under the tree this year for all who applied.
