JUNE
Saturday June 6; 11AM-1PM CENTER FOR WILDLIFE If you care, leave them there! Join wildlife rehabilitation professionals, and some permanently disabled live wildlife, to understand how to judge if a seemingly orphaned or injured wild animal needs help from humans. Saturday June 13 HERPETOLOGY DAY The Maine Herpetological Society was founded in 1992 to promote responsible care of captive reptiles and amphibians. They educate members and the general public on all aspects of Herpetoculture & habitat preservation. Several live snakes and other reptiles will be on display today for you to view, learn more about and photograph.

Saturday June 20 MEET DONN FENDLER - ‘LOST ON A MOUNTAIN IN MAINE’ & LEARN ABOUT OUTDOOR SAFETY & SURVIVAL SKILLS Meet & greet the real Donn Fendler, famous for becoming lost for nearly 2 weeks on Mt. Katahdin in July of 1939. Donn will autograph his books too, which will be available for purchase in our Nature Store. (or bring your own copies) Additionally, join MDIFW Recreational Safety Instructors to learn about safety & survival in the outdoors. Sat.-Sun. June 27 & 28 THE ANCIENT ONES This group of re-enactors, in full period dress, will set up a real Living History Camp from the late 1700s - 1800s. They will put up a canvas tent & have demonstrations going on all day long, including fire starting, cooking, trading, tomahawk throwing, flint knapping, flintlock muskets, weaving & more. Come to see what day-to-day life really looked like 200 years ago! All day Saturday; Sunday morning ‘til noon.

Saturday July 4 WATCH OUR WILDLIFE HAVE DINNER! Visitors to the park always want to know what our wildlife eats and when! Sunday Sept. 13 NATIONAL GRANDPARENT’S DAY National Grandparents Day is the first Sunday after Labor Day, & was signed into law by President Jimmy Carter. Free admission for Grandparents accompanied by their grandchildren; regular entrance fees for all other family members.
