Town Clerk Mandy Grenier Announces Lebanon Public Hearing, October 20, 2015

PUBLIC HEARING
Tuesday October 20, 2015
6:00pm @ Lebanon Elementary School

In addition to the State Ballot, Lebanon will be issuing Town Ballots for the November 3rd, 2015 Election. The Town Ballot will address a number of concerns, including but not limited to…
 Train’s Special Amusement Permit
 Town Service(s) Fee Schedule
 Any Valid Citizens Petitions

Town Government has often been called the ‘truest form of Government’ and this is because you, The Residents, have direct control over your Town Government. The Public hearing is where you will voice your concerns and get your questions answered. Code Enforcement, and the Board of Selectmen will be in attendance and, by law, Town Officials may not speak about questions on the ballot at any time other than the public hearing. This is why your attendance is crucial in helping you cast your vote. Consider this excerpt from Maine Municipal Association.
“While the decision to vote is yours alone to make, remember democracy is about having and respecting differences of opinion. It is also about asking questions. It is about casting an informed vote. It is also about
becoming "part of the solution"
