York County Community Action Access to Justice Provides Assistance in Family Law Matters

A Program offered through York County Community Action -- Sanford, Maine
 
Access to Justice offers assistance to individuals who are representing themselves in family law matters, with the goal of assuring they have the information, assistance and advocacy they need to have a productive experience in the judicial system.
Our Legal Advocate is available to:
  • Assist you with filling our court paperwork
  • Explain court proceedings for:
        • Divorce
        • Parental rights
        • Post-judgment motions
        • Guardianship, and
        • Other family law-related matters
        • Notarize forms and make copies for you, or
        • Explain the court process and timeframes (example: how long to wait for a hearing), and what to expect in court.  
The goal of Access to Justice is to help you move forward through court proceedings with the confidence and general understanding to advocate for yourself during what can often be an intimidating experience.
