Take a 'SANFORD ART WALK" Along the downtown

  •

SANFORD - The Sanford Art Association will present its first-ever Sanford Art Walk on Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Fourteen of Sanford’s downtown businesses will be sponsoring local artists. The artists will display their work, using a variety of mediums: sculpture; oil paintings; watercolor; woodworking; pottery; pressed flowers; and mixed media.
"It is an event not to be missed," the association stated in a news release.
Maps for the walking tour may be picked up at The Sanford Art Gallery, right in between City Hall and the Chamber of Commerce, at 917 Main Street. In addition to the Walk, the gallery also will feature 17 artists displaying their work.
Refreshments will be served at the gallery and at many of the participating businesses.
The association is teaming up with the 2015 Sanford International Film Festival in order to make the weekend a special event. For more information regarding the film festival, which will be held in Sanford from May 27 through May 31, please visit online at http://www.sanfordfilmfest.com/.
Local artist Terry Jellerson has donated "A New England Sunset," with canvas printing donated by Ray Levesque, for the association's art scholarship fund raffle.
The map with participating artists and businesses will be posted on the art association's webpage, www.sanfordspringvaleart.org. Look for the lime-green signs and balloons displayed at all businesses participating in the Art Walk.
