MAINE FIREFIGHTER DIES IN THE LINE OF DUTY-MEDICAL

We regret to pass on to you that Firefighter/EMT (former Asst Chief) David "Beav" Bourget, 59, of the Phippsburg Fire Department in Maine has died in the Line of Duty.

At 1900 hrs, (On May 23, 2015) several members of the Phippsburg Fire Department, including Firefighter Bourget, gathered at quarters in preparation to work a fireworks display standby detail. At 1940 hrs, the fire department members started to leave the station to work the detail. Firefighter Bourget was driving a tanker truck, but only got to the station's driveway apron when he suddenly fell ill. Firefighter Bourget was treated by paramedics at the scene and transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In addition to being a Firefighter/EMT, he was presently a Selectman for West Bath and had been serving in that capacity for the past 9 years. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Bennett Bourget of West Bath, daughter, Rachel Marie Bourget of Phippsburg and many family and friends. Our condolences to all affected. RIP.
